Naomi grew up surrounded by bluegrass and traditional american folk music, became passionate about blues and jazz through singers like Bessie Smith and Sarah Vaughan, and now writes and performs her own songs while remaining connected to these roots. She performs original and traditional material as a solo performer, with her family bluegrass band the Sommers Rosenthal Family Band, and most recently with fellow New England singer/songwriter Lisa Bastoni in the "slow-grass" duo Gray Sky Girls.
